The Burmese Cat - her nature and temper

The Burmese Cat is extremely human orientated, charming and affectionate. Their charming character makes them irresistable. It is that " special something" in their nature that attracts cat lovers to them so much.

They are called the "human cat" as they bond strongly to humans. Their love and affection is remarkablely strong. The Burmese are always seeking body contact and are happiest when being caressed and cuddled.

This breed needs to have extreme close contact to the entire family. Burmese cats love to take rides in the car which is why they go on many vacations with the family.

The Burmese belong to the most intelligent of breeds. It is their nature to be the centre of attention and from their point of view everyone simply has to love them dearly. Naturally this makes them want to show off and hopefully get plenty of pats and lots of praise.
A Burmese cat is very adaptable and accepts the daily routine of the family.

For children a Burmese is an ideal companion as patience is one of their many virtues. We would like to point out that a Burmese does get on very well with other animals such as dogs or other cats. But do not be fooled by their sweet look as they also will be the boss in every situation.

New people and cats will be conquered by her nosey and investigative nature. This cat invents new ideas in order to please the people she is living with. A Burmese cat fills a new home with love and joy. Loneliness is a thing of the past...Once you have adopted a Burmese a life without one (or two) is not imaginable anymore.

A Burmese cat is a very healthy breed and often lives to the age of 19 and even older. They remain playful for their entire life and of course they never stop loving you.
A Burmese should not run free as they do not know fear of the unknown. But they do enjoy the outdoors in a secured garden or relaxing in the sun on a balcony.
